Bookings come in, cleanings follow

Camppy takes bookings from the system you already use, and we set up that connection with you. From arrivals and departures it creates the cleanings, following the rules you set.

From the system you already use

Camppy connects to the PMS, channel manager or booking engine where your bookings already live. We set up that connection together with you during onboarding, so there is nothing for you to configure.

Camppy is not a PMS or a channel manager. You keep managing bookings where you manage them today; Camppy handles what happens between one guest leaving and the next arriving.

iCal link and manual entry

Separately, a unit’s calendar can be imported from its private iCal link. Camppy imports only upcoming stays within the campsite season and refreshes the calendars regularly, even when nobody has the app open.

Imported entries arrive as Pending: you set each one as a booking, an owner stay or a closed period. A pending entry gets no cleaning until it is confirmed, and its dates are changed at the source, not in Camppy.

  • Bookings can also be entered by hand: guest, unit, dates and status in one place.
  • Owner stays and blocked dates are marked separately and do not count as billable guest nights.
  • An imported booking that matches an existing one exactly is merged with it.
  • The timeline by unit warns when dates overlap.

Cleanings follow the bookings

Following the rules you set, Camppy creates cleanings in advance from departures and arrivals: for a turnover, for a departure only and for an arrival only.

For each unit you decide whether a guest booking and an owner stay need a cleaning afterwards, and you can change that on any single booking. Extras such as a cot are requested on the booking and arrive on the cleaning that prepares the unit for that guest.

  • Extra tasks during a stay can be added with the booking; after that they live on the Tasks page.

The season and the overview

The campsite season is set once by day and month and applies every year; by default it runs from 1 April to 1 November. Automatic cleanings and bookings work all year, and outside the season everyone sees Season not started or Season ended next to today’s date.

The bookings page shows counts by status for this year and everything ahead: pending, active, checked out, owner stays and closed. It has search and an archive of past years.

Questions

About bookings and import

Do we have to change our booking system?

No. Camppy connects to the system you use today, and we set up the connection with you during onboarding. Bookings can also be imported from an iCal link or entered by hand.

Is an iCal link the same as a connection to our channel manager?

No. An iCal link is a separate import for one unit’s calendar. Its entries arrive as Pending, and you confirm each one as a booking, an owner stay or a closed period. The connection to your PMS or channel manager is a separate step that we set up with you.

Can unit owners enter their own stays?

Yes, through the owner portal, which is an add-on. An owner enters, edits and deletes bookings, their own stays and blocked dates for their own units.
