The day’s work on the team’s phone

Each cleaner and technician opens Camppy on their phone and sees only their own work for the day. It runs in the browser and can be added to the home screen, without an app store.

Everyone sees only their own work

My schedule shows each person what is assigned to them today: their cleanings in order, each with its status, and their tasks for the day. The weeks ahead can be browsed as far as cleanings are created or the last scheduled job.

Each person chooses their own interface language from twelve, so a seasonal team does not need to know the manager’s language to follow the day.

One screen for each cleaning

The cleaner starts the cleaning on its screen, ticks off the checklist for that type of cleaning and finishes it once every item is ticked. A cleaning can be started on the day it is scheduled, from the start of the shift.

Where the cleaning type asks for photos, they are taken with the camera or added from the gallery on the same screen. Where photos are required, the cleaning cannot be finished without at least one.

  • A fault, damage or missing linen is reported from the same screen, with a note on what the problem stops and who should fix it.
  • Where the cleaning type requires a check, the finished cleaning goes to the supervisor. Until the check starts, the cleaner can take it back and carry on.
  • A cleaning sent back for rework appears in its own section, with the reason the supervisor wrote.

No app store, and a PIN instead of a password

Camppy opens in the phone’s browser and can be installed on the home screen as a web app, on phones and computers alike. New versions download in the background.

Cleaners, supervisors and technicians sign in with a four-digit PIN, with no email or password. The manager sends a link that connects the device, and a shared tablet can hold several people: each picks their own name. After too many wrong PINs the device is disconnected.

When the signal drops

Data already loaded on the phone stays visible without a connection. Changes made offline wait on the device and are sent when the connection returns, and the app shows how many are still waiting.

Photos taken without signal also wait on the device and are sent as soon as there is a connection. While people are online, changes show up for everyone else who is signed in.

Questions

About working in the field

Does the team have to install anything from an app store?

No. Camppy opens in the browser on any phone. Anyone who wants it can add it to the home screen, where it opens like an installed app.

Does every cleaner need an email address?

No. Field staff sign in with a four-digit PIN on a device the manager has connected with a link. People who prefer it can still sign in with email.

What happens in parts of the campsite with no signal?

Data already loaded stays visible. Changes made without a connection wait on the phone and are sent when the signal returns, and the app shows how many are still waiting.
